New to felt or want to improve your repertoire? Each of the workshops covers the basic principles of the techniques involved. Very few resources are needed to start felt-making!

Workshops available:

Beginner’s workshop

This covers the basic principles in making felt. It includes flat felt that can be turned into a stitched bag. We will work from wool tops and also use fleece, covering all the processes needed to get the fleece into a stage to produce good felt. Hand carding and using a drum carder will be covered.

Beads

Make your own necklace! This is a short course and is great fun for a girls’ night in! You can match the beads to your clothes! You could also combine the bead making with a short presentation on colour types for a really informative & session.

Working with a template - bag

Make a seamless bag in a day. We will also look at bags and consider your style so your bag can really match your personality. The gallery will soon contain pictures of bags made in the latest workshop.

Working with a mould - slippers

These are anything but traditional! This course will give you a thorough grounding in making slippers for all ages and types. (2 day course)

Cobweb felt

The principles of cobweb felt making. You will design and make your own cobweb scarf.

Whichever course you do you will leave with:

a product that you have felted yourself
notes to enable you to repeat what you have done
addresses of suppliers
and probably an addiction to feltmaking!
